They have comparisons available for kitchen, whole house and shower filters.  The  reports about our water quality certainly would make us realize the importance of having additional filtration of our water supply.

For most of us, we really don’t need a whole house filtration system, we need a good kitchen filter and then a shower filter.  Shower filter? Yes. The chlorine that is in our municipal water filter supply isn’t good for us or our skin. When we take a shower our skin is heated and the pores open up and let the contaminants that are in the water to be absorbed.

We found several good kitchen water filtration system available.  We particularly liked this Essence countertop water filter. It has a life of 1000 gallons which is twice as much as it’s competitor   and has an electronic filter life indicator that tells when to replace the filter.

That is over30 billion plastic bottles a year! That’s a lot of plastic that isn’t biodegradable. Not only that to make matters worse over 17 billion barrels of oil are used to produce those bottles. Then add the transportation and you have an eviromental mess.

Why not use a water filtration system?
